VETERANS from various branches of the Airborne Engineers' Association gathered at the Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington, at the weekend, for their annual reunion.
They were joined by about 300 members of the Army Cadet Force for a march-past yesterday, with a salute, following a morning memorial service and flag-raising ceremony.
A variety of air and ground displays provided a colourful and entertaining day for the visiting public, including a free fall parachute display, flypast by a Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, living history displays, military vehicles, parachute packing and regimental displays, accompanied by music from the York Concert Band.
Flight simulator rides were available during the day, with a variety of different flight options. These included a First World War dogfight, through to Tornado, Harrier and F16 simulations.
