DRINGHOUSES lost their top spot in division two, slipping into third place after losing by four wickets at Hornsea who are the new leaders.
Ahmed Nadeem caused problems for 'Houses as he took 5-43 while two wickets apiece for John McKenzie and Richard Medforth helped to dismiss the visitors for 143. Ex-Cookridge player Scott Jacques top scored with 32 and Mark Hayter made 26.
Hornsea's batsmen did not find it plain sailing as Dave Todd took 3-29 and Kev McGuinness 2-27 but Nadeem's class shone through and the United Arab Emirates batman's unbeaten 60 steered his side to a four-wicket win.
Malton & Old Malton continued to home in on the leaders when they had a comfortable victory at Rowntrees, who are still seeking their first win.
Richard Tuite made 33, Sean Marshall 38 and Paul Horner 25 in a Rowntrees' score of 143-8 as Danny Foxton took 4-36.
Aussie David Nankervis proved to be the difference between the two sides when his unbeaten 61 saw Malton home with six wickets to spare.
Scarborough's Philip Seed hit the highest score of the day in the division when he pillaged 143 runs off the long-suffering Stillington attack. With Kev Theobald adding 44, Scarborough made 228-4.
After the break, Neil Fletcher took 3-27 but Shaminda Dissanayake made 26 to help his side to a draw at 126-8.
