I READ with great interest the letter from Colin Robinson (June 13) about the Beckfield Lane tip.

I was also turned away during the displayed opening times because the tip was "full".

Colin Robinson was turned away at 12.45pm, but last Sunday I saw people being refused entry at 12.30pm when I drove past.

Can anyone beat this?

For an amenity that has advertised opening times on Sunday between 10am and 2pm I put this on-going saga down to a management that is a load of rubbish!

...THE article about paper banks (June 13) had me wondering what these objects will look like in a few months' time.

Will they be as filthy as the various recycling banks at Sainsburys, Foss Bank?

They are a disgrace to the city.

Recycling banks on the Continent are always in pristine condition as are their wheelie bins because they are taken away on refuse days and replaced with clean ones.
