Selby'S own version of Men In Black visited the town's Civic Centre to pledge council support for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
The pair - otherwise known as Martin Connor, chief executive of Selby District Council, and Mark Crane, council leader - donned sunglasses to support the charity's Shades For A Day campaign.
The event will take place on July 15 to raise valuable funds for the charity as well as raising awareness about protecting your eyes from the sun's harmful UV rays.
Mr Connor said: "The council is delighted to support this cause, not only by helping to raise money for the charity, but also by raising awareness of the work of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association."
Money raised will go some way towards funding extensive eye-care education and research into the causes of eye diseases.
