SWIMMERS at a York boarding school made a splash with their life-saving skills.
Pupils at Queen Margaret's School, Escrick, have been awarded three silver cups from the North and West Yorkshire Region of the Royal Life Saving Society.
The school won the JSD Wilson Cup for putting 55 pupils through their life-saving exam this year, the most from one school in the region.
The school also scooped the Ernest Duffield Cup for getting 50 pupils through their bronze medallion award.
Swimming teacher Fiona Whittle was awarded the Maurice Reaney Trophy for outstanding instruction.
In recognition of her services to life-saving, Miss Whittle has been invited to the Guildhall in London to receive a certificate of merit.
