YORK youngsters got a lesson in public transport with a special trip on one of the city's new bendy buses.
Ian Shields, a driver with First bus company, paid a visit to Bishopthorpe Childminding Group to teach the children about buses. The event took place to celebrate National Childminding Week.
About 23 pre-school children aged up to four went for a ride on the bus and enjoyed a picnic and fun activities, ranging from a sing-a-long of Wheels On The Bus to spotting the local sights.
Nichola Howard, of Bishopthorpe Childminding Group, said the trip was many of the children's first time on a bendy bus.
She said: "The children loved it and got really excited."
