IT'S good to see the new Lib-Dem regime on City of York Council is getting to grips with the city's transport problems ("Roundabouts are given make-over", June 13).
Apparently the length of grass on roundabouts on the northern ring road has been a "continual problem."
"Teams have already been sent out to cut the grass and will continue to do so on a regular basis, officers are working on a programme of planting appropriate to each location." Wake up! Look at the real transport problems.
What about affordable bus fares, decent pay for bus drivers, railway stations for Haxby and Strensall, and rush-hour congestion? A few people complaining about the length of the grass on a roundabout as they whizz past on their way to the supermarket is not a transport problem.
