CALLING all those who know their foxtrot from their fandango - Mr Swing needs you.
York-based Mr Swing's Dance Orchestra is staging a concert aimed at all those who are skilled in the elegant art of ballroom dancing.
"Usually when we do a performance, you get a mixture of all sorts of people, about half of whom can do all the dances, while the other half have a go," said orchestra leader Matthew Hardy.
Their next dance will be at New Earswick Folk Hall which has plenty of room for everyone to strut their stuff, and Matthew wants to encourage as many expert dancers as possible to go along.
Among the dances played by the 13-strong outfit will be the cha-cha, samba, bosa nova, foxtrot and waltz.
"We are calling on people who used to do all the dances - come along and dance again.
"There are about four or five ballroom dance clubs in and around York, where people dance to CDs. This is a chance to try out the steps to live music."
The dance will take place at the Folk Hall, on July 18, from 7.30pm to midnight. Light refreshments and a bar will be available. Tickets at £12, or £100 for a table for ten, are available from Matthew, phone 07775 615151, or from the First Hussar pub in North Street, York.
