ARMY Cadets from Pocklington have received regimental honours in a prestigious competition.
The cadets from the Pocklington Detachment of Humberside and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force received the honours after winning a march and shoot competition and finishing runners-up in the regional Prince of Wales's Own Regimental Competition at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Strensall, York.
Cadet Sergeant Alexandra Genner, from Pocklington, commanded a team of eight local Army Cadets in the annual contest. Lieutenant Colonel Steven Padgett, Colonel of the Regiment, presented the medals.
The competition, called Exercise Whitehorse, tested military skills, including a leadership command task, first aid, map reading and skill at arms, followed by a speed march and shoot.
The Pocklington detachment is looking for adults to assist with the training. Information can be obtained from County Headquarters on freephone 0845 600 77 99 or by visiting www.hsy.armycadets.org.uk
