A TEENAGE girl badly injured in an horrific car crash on the A64 in York has died, police said today. Charlotte Jackson, 16, of Worcester Road, Hull, died in Hull Royal Infirmary.
Ms Jackson suffered serious internal injuries in the crash, which saw a black Peugeot 306 GTi, carrying six young people, veer across two lanes of the A64, land in a ditch and burst into flames.
All six people in the car managed to get out before the fire took hold, but two were seriously hurt.
Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the crash, which happened at about 10.15am on Sunday on the A64 westbound, between Grimston Bar and the A19 interchange.
North Yorkshire Police spokesman Tony Lidgate said: "We are seeking witnesses to the accident and the driving of the Peugeot 306 beforehand.
"We are particularly anxious to speak to the driver of a blue car who we believe will have seen the accident happen."
Anyone with information should phone the road policing group on 01904 631321.
