THREE men have been charged following a police investigation into alleged child abuse at an East Yorkshire care home.
Humberside Police launched Operation Aldgate in April, 2001, to look into allegations of child abuse from former residents of St William's care home in Market Weighton. The investigation focused on the period between 1967 and 1992, when the home was closed.
A 62-year-old man, from Oxford, has been charged with four counts of committing a serious sexual offence between 1973 and 1991.
A 60-year-old, from Anglesey, is accused of committing a serious sexual offence and one count of indecent assault between 1973 and 1976.
A 57-year-old man, from Southsea, Hampshire, has been charged with two counts of indecent assault between 1978 and 1979.
All three will appear at Grimsby and Cleethorpes Magistrates Court next Thursday.
