TELEVISION celebrity Clare Frisby went on a "super shop" to help launch a new tourism campaign in York.
The Look North presenter, who lives in the city, was backing a new push to put York at the top of shopping lists in Scotland.
York Tourism Bureau has launched three Insider Shopping Trails covering arts, antiques and books, gifts and designer wear.
The aim is to tempt the Scots to come and discover York's ancient history, as well as enjoy its vast array of designer, high street and unusual shops.
Clare said: "York is a fabulous city and it has got so much to offer. There are so many different aspects to enjoy and shopping is just one of them.
"It's something we should be really proud of in this year, and that's why I live here!"
Gillian Cruddas, chief executive of York Tourism Bureau, said: "We firmly believe that York is streets ahead when it comes to offering individual and independent shops in a beautiful historic setting.
"No other city in the country can offer such superb surroundings for a shopping spree, and we hope this new campaign will encourage many more visitors to stay overnight in York to shop and discover the city's historic charm at the same time."
