YORK group MatheMagic has received almost £50,000 in funding to continue its work with difficult-to-reach communities using the York Computer Bus.
The bus tours areas of York helping both adults and children improve their basic skills.
The group, which is a charity, needs about £100,000 a year to operate, but recently received almost half of this funding at once. The majority of the cash boost has come through European funding with money also from the DfES and York ward committees.
Drivers are needed, along with tutors who have experience in teaching basic skills.
