PEOPLE in the Harrogate area are being urged to think about how they could spend some of the money available to their district from North Yorkshire County Council.
The county council's area committee has a budget of £62,500 and is looking for schemes it could help to finance.
During the past year grants have been made to the following organisations:
- £1,000 to Ripon City Panthers Junior Football Club for new changing rooms, improvements to pitches and additional car parking
- £250 to Bilton Youth Club towards fencing to protect against vandalism
- £750 to Pinewoods Conservation Group towards footpath reinstatement and development of the Pinewoods
- £1,000 to Ripon International Festival
- £500 to Lofthouse and Middlesmoor Silver Band for the re-roofing of the band room
The area committee welcomes further applications for the 2003/04 financial year. Applications forms and further information are available from the Committee Services Unit, County Hall, Northallerton, DL7 8AD, telephone 01609 780780, or email committee@northyorks.gov.uk
