Rowntrees are still chasing their first win in division two after coming within seven runs of the massive 254-2 declared set by leaders Dringhouses.
Rowntrees' bowlers were on the receiving of a heavy bombardment as Mick Kenyon hit an unbeaten 111, M Stimpson 66 not out and Kev McGuinness 49.
But Rowntrees took up the gauntlet as Mick Jones hit a personal best 95 and Paul Horner and Dave Whittle each made 26. But Kenyon added to his earlier ton with 6-78 to see Trees all out for 247.
Bridlington gained a five-wicket victory over neighbours Sewerby to keep well in touch with the leaders.
Steve Stavely made 38 in Sewerby's 135-9 with Bridlington's Hafiz Khalid taking 5-46.
The man from Gujzanwala then provided a valuable 56 runs which, coupled with 34 from Brian Rudd, ensured a fifth win for the hosts.
Scarborough denied home side Hornsea outright victory thanks to an unbeaten 61 from Dave Morris.
Peter Beard took 6-34, but Guy Martinson made 64 and Ahmed Nadeem 44 to help Hornsea to 175 all out.
John McKenzie took 3-40 but Morris held firm to take the visitors to 140-7.
Studley Royal came out on top at St George's Road when Harrogate's 140-9 fell short of the 146 all out target.
Royal's score relied heavily on Andy Mackle (63) as Aussie Kane Gordon took 3-32, ex-Yorkshire spinner Peter Kippax 3-16 and David Warnock-Smith 3-24.
Gordon followed with 32, Rupert Scales 26 and Simon Mantle 33 but Andrew Caine's 3-51 tipped the scales in favour of Studley.
Stillington's woes continued when they were outclassed by Malton & Old Malton, who pocketed the full 30 points to increase the pressure on the leading pack.
Dave Nankervis hit an unbeaten 106, while Darren Wyrill made 56 and skipper Neil Johnson added 30 to an overall total of 212-5.
In reply, Shaminda Dissanayake made 38, but saw his side slide to 83 all out as Tony Linsley took 5-19 and Danny Foxton 4-29.
Wilberfoss gained a valuable victory at the expense of fellow strugglers Castleford.
Australian John Blanck top scored for 'Cas' with 74 and, with Steve Medley making 33 and Matt Radford 30, the Calderdale side reached 199-8 despite Paul Lofthouse's 4-60.
When Wilberfoss replied, Paul Stothard played the decisive innings before falling just one run short of a well deserved century. However, Geoff Room with 58 and an unbeaten 27 by Ian Clish saw 'Foss to their goal despite an intervention by Blanck (3-19).
