GENEROUS bank bosses have come to the aid of a York charity which works with youngsters with special needs.
Bank of Scotland Business Banking in York has helped out with Snappy's Saturday Scheme by donating £2,750 to help save the charity's weekly funday.
The Saturday scheme runs activities for 24 special needs children aged between five and 13 each week, in order that parents can have a break. MENCAP, who originally funded the scheme, can no longer provide the financial support resulting in this much needed local resource coming under threat.
Anne Pemberton, from Snappy, said: "Every Saturday we run activities including days out, art courses, sport, play and much more. The club is fighting to raise the £11,000 we need to keep us fully operational so this very kind donation from Bank of Scotland couldn't have come at a better time."
The business banking team agreed to sponsor the annual Yorkshireman's Charity dinner, due to take place on October 16 at Merchant Adventurers, with all proceeds going to Snappy.
