A YOUNG York footballer who made an amazing fightback from a double organ transplant was today warming up for a charity five-a-side tournament.
Paul Bradley, 12, endured a 15-hour liver and kidney transplant operation in 1999. Last August, the Evening Press told how his family and friends organised a football tournament in aid of the children's transplant games, in which Paul was competing. That event proved such a success, a series of fundraising events have been held this year, rounded off with tomorrow's five-a-side competition at Oaklands sports centre, Acomb. Paul, of Leeman Road, is set to play in a special children's section of the tournament, and will also compete in this year's children's transplant games. Said his mum, Lynne: "Paul is doing really well and is looking forward to Sunday."
