YORK City Ladies are celebrating after winning the annual White Rose six-a-side tournament in Castleford.
Victories over Steel City, Farsley Celtic and Morley Spurs and a draw with South Durham Royals in the group stages ensured a semi-final berth against Kirklees Ladies.
City beat Kirklees 1-0 to set-up a final with South Durham and in a tense encounter York triumphed 1-0.
Penalties denied the City Ladies a notable double when they participated in another six-a-side tournament in Morley.
Undefeated in the group stages, the City Ladies, who topped their qualifying group on goal difference, met Ossett Albion in the quarter-finals and emerged victorious after a penalty shoot-out.
In the semi-finals, York met Morley but this time, after a goalless match, City were unable to hold their nerve in the penalty shoot-out as the host club triumphed.
