BRITISH music was in the air as members of a York Orchestra rehearsed the Last Night Of The Proms in the city's Museum Gardens.
Musicians of the Academy of St Olave's assembled in the grounds of the Yorkshire Museum to give passers-by a sneak preview of their open air concert, planned for June 21.
The orchestra will perform Fantasia On British Sea Songs, which includes the famous Hornpipe, in its Summer Spectacular concert, celebrating 25 years of music making. The concert will include a mix of old favourites, lighting effects and a firework finale. Organisers expect an audience of more than 500 to descend on the Museum Gardens, with rugs and picnics.
