LUCKLESS Aussie star Jonny Firth has returned Down Under to recuperate from his bad arm injury.
The amiable stand-off, who came to England off his own back to further his rugby league career, played five Arriva Trains Cup games for the Knights before suffering a torn bicep tendon against Hull KR in late March, an injury which the specialist has confirmed will rule him out for the season.
Firth, who joined the Knights after seeing a planned move to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats fall through, had only just returned from bad knee damage and was getting better with every game when his new blow struck.
Knights chief executive Steve Ferres said: "He's gone home with our blessing. It's a shame he could not continue to play for us."
Whether Firth (pictured below) will return to the Knights remains to be seen. Ferres added: "We don't know at this stage what he will do. He's gone home to rest and recuperate and we will take it from there."
