POLICE boat teams have been searching the River Derwent for a pensioner who disappeared last month.
Christopher John Hanby went missing from his home in Parliament Street, Norton, on May 24. The 62-year-old, who had been suffering from depression, is thought to have taken little cash with him and his bank account has not been touched since.
Yesterday the underwater search unit sailed from Old Malton to the weir at Kirkham, but failed to find anything.
They plan to return to the area within the next two weeks.
Community safety Sergeant Cliff Edens said officers had also taken Mr Hanby's home computer away to be examined, in a bid to discover any clues as to where he might be. But this had drawn a blank.
Anyone with information is asked to phone Malton police on 01653 692424.
