LIFE begins at 50 - that was the message at the 2003 Years Ahead exhibition in York.
More than 800 over-50s attended the Evening Press event at the Merchant Adventurers' Hall, Fossgate, York, yesterday, to find out about everything from holidays and healthcare to pensions and moving abroad.
Evening Press events manager Wendy Neale said this year's exhibition had had the highest-ever attendance.
She said: "Scores of people took advantage of holiday offers and several people took their first steps to buying a home overseas."
Visitors also received advice on issues including personal finances, will-writing and retraining. There was also the opportunity for people to meet BBC North Yorkshire presenters, Dougie Weakes and Alex Hall, who broadcasted from the event.
Wendy said: "It was really successful. All the visitors really enjoyed it and got lots of useful information."
