THE identity of the mystery visitor who has been laying flowers on the grave of Dick Turpin can finally be revealed.
Mystic Gill Dodd, 33, of King's Lynn, has been making regular trips to York from her home to visit the grave of the notorious highwayman.
Her partner, Pont Redhead, said: "Gill is fascinated by the story of Dick, and she is very interested in mystical things.
"She believes she may have known him in a former life, which is why she enjoys coming to York to visit."
After our own Dick Turpin correspondent featured the story of the tributes laid in the grave, the Evening Press offered a Merlin Gold Card - which gives free entry to several visitor attractions - to the person responsible for the flowers and poetry.
Pont said: "I think it will be really good for Gill to be recognised like this, and she is pleased the paper has been interested in her visits to the grave. Now she will also be delighted to be able to visit all these attractions, it will be really good for us to go to these places as a family, with Gill's two sons, and to enjoy ourselves as a family."
