Five York-based rugby league referees have progressed to the regional camp for officials after making the grade at the recent area camp in Dewsbury.
The quintet from York Rugby League Referees' Society - Lee Archer, Tom Benson, Shane Daniel, Gareth Evans and Craig Swanson - will return to Dewsbury for the regional camp later this month.
Secretary of YRLRS Stuart Evans, a match official development officer, said: "They all showed the right attitude, knowledge, refereeing skills, levels of fitness and all things that makes a good match official.
"It is hoped all five will progress to the national camp later in the year at Warrington."
