FAYR JAG, who holds an entry at next week's Royal Ascot meeting, can pick up a sizeable prize at York tomorrow.
The Tim Easterby-trained sprinter goes for the £20,000 SportingOptions.co.uk Rated Handicap and has excellent claims.
In the frame on his first two starts this season, Fayr Jag made it third time lucky at Pontefract 12 days ago when overcoming a high draw to win by half a length from Greenwood.
Fayr Jag has the option of lining up in next week's Wokingham Handicap at the Royal meeting, but, in the meantime, a short journey to Knaves-mire should pay dividends for the Ryedale gelding.
Henry Hall gets the vote in the opening Blacks The People For Property Handicap, over five furlongs.
A previous course and distance winner, Henry Hall has run two cracking races in defeat since springing a 20-1 surprise at Thirsk in April.
At his best on a flat track and over the minimum trip, Henry Hall, trained by Nigel Tinkler, will be ridden, as usual, by his wife, Kim Tinkler, who gets on so well with him.
In the Colliergate Rated Handicap, Mamcazma receives the nap vote.
A winner over this course and distance last autumn, Mamcazma, trained at Newmarket by Dave Morris, has filled the frame on both his starts this term, most recently on Knavesmire last month when he was beaten less than a length into third by Landing Light.
Overdue a return to winning ways, Mamcazma is fancied to have the measure of Barolo, whose impressive win at Newmarket last time has resulted in a steep rise up the weights.
Frankie Dettori, rider of Barolo, can delight his army of Yorkshire fans by winning the SportingOptions Commission Maiden Stakes on Rosehearty.
Trained by David Loder, whose two-year-olds have been in scorching form this season, Rosehearty failed to justify favouritism on her debut at Sandown last month when beaten just over a length by Our Gamble.
She did, however, show her inexperience that day and, with that race under her belt, Rosehearty is now expected to be a stronger proposition. She will surely be hard to beat.
The Batleys Charity Race Day Premier Claiming Stakes looks a good opportunity for Donna's Double to repeat his success of 12 months ago.
The eight-year-old, who has been such a wonderful servant to Newcastle trainer Don Eddy, should now be cherry-ripe after three outings. Furthermore, he will have the assistance of Paul Hanagan, the North's top young rider.
At Sandown, a note should be made of Dove Tree in the SBJ Classified Stakes.
Henry Candy's filly gained a 20-1 success at Nottingham last month, but there was no apparent fluke about that result.
Similar odds will not, alas, be available tomorrow, but a similar outcome could well be on the cards.
