A FACTORY worker was airlifted to hospital after an artery in his arm was severed in a work-related accident.
The man, an employee of Grampian Country Pork Ltd, was working at Malton's bacon factory, when the incident happened, at about 3.30pm, yesterday.
He was taken to York Hospital by air ambulance.
Alasdair Cox, from Grampian Country Pork Ltd, said today: "We obviously take all of these accidents very seriously.
"There will be an internal investigation, but we are not making any comment on the accident."
