NEW trainer Con Dore sends his gelding Ostara to Beverley tomorrow in a bid to notch his third win in a week.

Ostara was a comfortable winner at Beverley last Wednesday evening and again at Doncaster last Saturday when Dore saddled him under a 6lb penalty.

The gelding carries the same 6lb penalty tomorrow in the Betfair.com Telephone Betting Handicap.

Dore insists that he will give Ostara a rest after tomorrow and the five-year-old will be re-handicapped from the end of the week in any case, which is going to make life much tougher for him.

Dore, who recently took over from his father-in-law Roger Spicer, for whom he had worked as assistant trainer, will once again give the leg-up on Ostara to Claire Stretton tomorrow.

The 7lb claiming apprentice has struck up a great understanding with the horse and has ridden him to four wins in five attempts.

Kevin Darley will be on Green Casket in the Betfair.com Betting Handicap and the Jeremy Glover-trained gelding deserves respect.

Green Casket won over the course and distance last season. Likely to have benefitted from his comeback race last month, the five-year-old could go well tomorrow.

Fergal Lynch rides the fancied Marakash in the Betfair.com Maiden Stakes. Trained by Sir Michael Stoute, Marakash has shown enough in his two starts to suggest that he should make a bold bid in this modest event.

Tancred Times has as good a chance as any in the five furlongs Betfair.com Fillies' Handicap, which will be fast and furious.

David Barker's speedy mare has been running well. She was a close-up fourth to Blessingindisguise at Catterick on her latest outing. This stiffer course will suit her better and she gets my Nap vote to gain her first win of the campaign.
