CIVIL Service are the new leaders of the IT Sports Mixed Tennis League after beating visitors Wigginton 63-45.
Wendy Cook and Howard Pallister secured victory with an 11-1 final rubber which saw their side leapfrog York at the top.
Wigginton's Danni Baker and Phil Langley put up a brave fight and were unbeaten.
Tadcaster enjoyed their first win of the season by beating Poppleton 66-42 to move off the bottom of the table.
Castlegarth have taken over top spot in division seven after beating York 55-53 and then thrashing Strensall 82-26.
Alison Cooper and Kevin Duckenfield led the scoring for Castlegarth, just ahead of Trish Bell and David Grbyn. Castlegarth have a two-point advantage over the next four teams after York's 56-52 defeat against Appleton Roebuck, whose Mary-Jane Murray and Paul Harrison were the top scorers. Anthea Brogden and Peter Ziegler won their final rubber 10-2 to seal the points for Appleton Roebuck.
New Earswick defeated Bishopthorpe 74-34 with Sandra Burley and Keith Pearson undefeated for Earswick.
Judth Evans and Andy Ivel won 29 games as Rufforth moved up the table with a 65-53 win at Rowntree Park.
Sherburn won their first game of the season in division three by winning at York IV with Norma Barry and Jonathon Sharp leading the way.
Dunnington were also first-time winners, edging out Tollerton 55-53.
Unbeaten Castlegarth thrashed York IV 82-26 and Wheldrake ended York II's unbeaten run with a 59-49 victory.
Stillington retained the leadership of division five with a 62-46 win at Cliffe. Cawood moved in to second place after a 55-53 win at Wigginton, whose Ann Mead and Stuart Robertson were unbeaten. Wigginton also lost 57-51 at home to Heworth.
Sutton-on-Derwent and Civil Service maintained their unbeaten records after they drew with each other in division six.
Dunnington came from behind in the final rubber to beat New Earswick, while Cawood swapped places with Poppleton with victory after being level entering the last round.
Cawood took over the leadership of division nine after Carolynne and Richard Taylor win 28 game sin the victory at Selby.
Stillington took their first points of the season from the visit of Dunnington with Shirley Shepherd and John Dougherty just out-scoring Jean Dougherty and Paul Lister.
