IN-FORM Knavesmire runner Cameron Brooks won the second 10km race in the York and District Road Race League based in Tadcaster.
He beat Hywel Care (York Acorn) into second place, with Ian Anderson (Knavesmire) third.
The big difference from the first race was that York Acorn mustered all their top runners, while a lot of Knavesmire's high finishers from the first event were unable to make it to Tadcaster for this second round.
That was reflected in the team events with York Acorn's 'A' team (38pts) and 'B' team (103pts) finishing ahead of Knavesmire's 'A' team (115pts).
The women's race saw York Acorn's Dawn Gibbs clock 41min 05secs (36th overall) to take the honours in the absence of Knavesmire's Lisa Guscott-Trout.
Second was Christine Jeannette (Pocklington Runners) in 42-10 (44th overall), while Lara Gibbs (York Acorn) was third in 43-12 (55th overall).
York Acorn's ability to field a full strength team was rewarded with a fine victory over an understrength Knavesmire team. York Acorn 'A' 15pts, Knavesmire 'A' 34 and in third place York Acorn 'B' 46.
The next race in the series is at Easingwold tonight (7.30pm start).
