TWO Selby men are preparing to tackle the gruelling journey from John O'Groats to Land's End on their beloved bicycles.
David Langham, 40, of Myrtle Avenue, Selby, and Jim Backhouse, 32, of Barff Lane, Brayton, will set out on their epic trip on Sunday and complete the 1,000-mile course over a period of 11 days.
The pair will also raise money for Brayton Infants School, Selby Gym Club and the Take Heart Appeal at St James's Hospital in Leeds.
For Jim, a commercial director in medical sales, the last cause is particularly special as his father, Bob, had a triple heart bypass at St. James's Hospital ten years ago.
Both men say they are really looking forward to fulfilling their ambition to make the trip and can't wait to get started.
