ALL those who love York and its surrounding churches despair at the deliberate cultural vandalism in the proposal to close the Minster library.
Contrary to Canon Draper's comment, nowhere else so accessible and under one roof can be found the information about York and its neighbouring churches, their contents and family connections. This magnificent collection of reference books is used daily by the many amateur and professional historians and researchers.
These books have been given by the people of York and those who love it, to the people of York. They do not belong to the Dean and treasurer to be disposed of at their whim.
Please help to save this resource for us all.
