YORK'S James Thompson got back on top of the podium as Vauxhall continued their domination of the Green Flag MSA British Touring Car Championship at Silverstone yesterday.
He led French team-mate Yvan Muller home in race one before the positions were reversed in the afternoon.
That left Vauxhall, who have won seven of the last eight races, 147 points ahead of Honda in the manufacturers' championship.
Thompson is now 19 points adrift of Muller in the drivers' championship.
However, Vauxhall didn't have it all their own way.
Honda's Matt Neal was leading the first race until late on when he tolled to a halt. In the second race he was challenging Thompson and Muller when he suffered a mechanical problem.
Colin Turkington, a 21-year-old business student at Stirling University, won MG's first podium finish of the season when finishing third in the first race. Team-mate Warren Hughes then finished third in the second race.
