A SCHOOL fun day was made extra special with a visit from children's television presenter Angelica Bell.
Angelica, who is a distant relative of one of the pupils at Wheldrake and Thorganby Primary School, thrilled youngsters when she opened the annual school event.
She also stayed around to sign autographs, judge the fancy dress competition and even have a go on the rodeo.
More than 1,000 people attended the event on Saturday, which was organised by the PTA to raise funds for the school.
PTA spokesman Stuart Thomas said: "The weather was a dream and Angelica Bell was a delight to all.
"She had a go on everything. She was really good with the children and the adults."
It is hoped the event has raised £2,000 for the school.
