MORE than 100 social services staff in North Yorkshire have achieved awards to mark their hard work.
The workers, many of whom work with people in their own homes, day centres or residential establishments, have had their efforts recognised by receiving nationally-recognised qualifications at a variety of levels over the past year.
The awards were being presented at County Hall in Northallerton today by executive members for social services, Councillors Murray Naylor and Caroline Patmore and Rosemary Archer, the director of social services for North Yorkshire County Council.
Coun Naylor said: "People need the highest quality services and we can make sure they get the best by having staff who are well trained and competent in their work."
Mrs Archer said: "I am extremely proud of the dedication and commitment of staff in achieving these awards."
