After a third of the season, Dringhouses and Hornsea are level on points at the top of division two.
However, the York side hold a thin advantage by virtue of more outright victories.
Dringhouses' fourth win of term was a quickfire affair which saw bottom-placed Stillington mesmerised by the twin spin attack of Mick Kenyon (4-5) and Ian Bews (4-10). The paltry Stillington total of 44 was quickly overtaken for the loss of just one wicket.
Hornsea were prevented from going top when Rowntrees' last pair denied them victory in an otherwise one-sided game. Against an attack lacking the bowling of injured skipper Paul Horner, Hornsea's batsmen scored freely with Paul Clappison (38), Paul Johnson (42) and Dave Prescott (36) laying a foundation for Ahmed Nadeem with an unbeaten 64 and Richard Medforth, with 28no, to push the score to 241-5.
When Rowntrees replied, Richard Tuite made 32 before being narrowly run out but the rest of the home side struggled against Medforth, with 3-16, and Jonathan Lewis who took 3-24 as they laboured to 117-9.
Harrogate registered Leeds Met University's Neil Green just 24 hours prior to the match and he set the standard for the monthly batting award by recording the third-highest division two individual score.
Green hit a whopping 168no as he and Andrew Taylor (89no) created one of Harrogate's highest partnerships in years as they reached an unbroken 261. However, their attack failed to press home the advantage and Castleford were able to gain an unthreatened draw at 190-6 thanks to Andrew Hursthouse (31) and Stuart Medley (45).
