York athlete Gemma Endersby captained the Central and East Yorkshire team to a thrilling victory in the Air Cadets' Regional Athletics Championships held at York's Huntington Stadium.
Her Wing collected 242 points to win the six-team all-day event, beating East Lancashire Wing by a point.
Events were held across five age groups, Central and East Yorkshire winning outright after topping the junior men and junior women sections.
Cadet Warrant Officer Endersby, of 110 (City of York) Squadron, pictured above receiving the overall winner's trophy from Gp Capt Bill Gambold, said: "I'm ecstatic. We've been after this for a long time. It's my last year as a cadet as I will be too old to compete next year, so it's absolutely fantastic."
Endersby was also the Central and East Yorkshire Wing nomination for the top female cadet in the country, Wing sportswoman of the Year and a Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for North Yorkshire.
