New Earswick All Blacks ARLC will be holding a special challenge match between past-masters and the current team as part of the club's 20th anniversary celebrations later this month.
The clash will take place on the afternoon before the anniversary dinner on Saturday, June 28. That dinner - at which the guest speaker will be Super League referee Steve Ganson - will double-up as the presentation night.
The preceding match will be played for the Danny Rippon Trophy and the past-masters side is likely to feature ex-players including Mark Hinchliffe, Alex Davis, Gary and Paul Atkins, George Redhead, Steve Ripley and Paul Barnes.
They will be coached by Mark Benson and Dave Rippon, with the former already raising the stakes by saying he expects his side's experience to see them through.
The closing date for buying tickets for the anniversary dinner is nearly up. Anybody wishing to attend is asked to contact Dennis Harrison on 01904 421802 before June 12.
All Blacks will be holding their annual general meeting at New Earswick Sports Club this Sunday, June 8, starting at 11am. It will be followed by a players' meeting.
