A SINGLE mum from York has been awarded for her achievements in education.
Julie Goddard, a mature student at York St John College, has been given a regional adult learners' award as part of Adult Learners' Week.
Julie, who has two children, is studying for a BA Hons Community Studies degree after completing a two-year access in the community course.
She was nominated by Linda Pritchard, the access and lifelong learning manager, at York St John College because of her positive attitude.
Linda said: "Julie is a very positive person and has adapted to student life wholeheartedly.
"Not only does she study at York St John, she also works at the college as a student ambassador, advising and guiding other potential students. She is a fantastic role model for anyone considering higher education and thoroughly deserves to receive an award."
