A distraught family whose treasured miniature sausage dog has gone missing are offering a mouth-watering reward - a year's supply of pizza.
The Foxley family, who live at Whitwell-on-the-Hill, have been searching high and low for two-year-old Claude, who measures only seven inches tall, since he vanished last week. The treasured pet and companion of Minty, another miniature dachschund, went missing while running with her owners on a farm track at Terrington Moor, near Malton.
Now Ian Foxley, who runs Domino's Pizza, Bishopthorpe Road, has offered a large pizza every week for a year to anyone who can find the family pet.
He said: "The prize is worth £600 and I'll give it to the person who can come up with information leading to Claude's safe return.
"It just shows how much the dog means to us. Our children have been absolutely torn apart since losing her."
Nicholas, six, Jessica, 11, and Freddie, 13, have been involved in the search for Claude, and have left messages at Castle Howard, as well as contacting the police and dog wardens.
Claude is described as "puppy-like" at only 14 inches long. He has reddish-brown hair and was wearing a red collar with a silver buckle on it.
Anyone who has seen the small dog should contact Ian by calling 01653 619533 or email ian.foxley@btopenworld.com
