"YOU were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar..." the Human League once sang.
Now, York drama lovers can get a taste of life in a cocktail bar, in the debut performance by a new theatre group, at the Basement Bar at City Screen, in Coney Street.
City Screen manager Tony Clarke said: "We obviously enjoy the odd film here, and down in the Basement Bar we regularly have live music, poetry and comedy.
"Now we are introducing some drama, and we really have high hopes.
"It is something we are also really interested in doing a lot more of."
Actors from the One For The Road theatre company will perform Shakers by John Godber, a story about the lives and loves of four cocktail waitresses.
It is the first production of the new, York-based theatre company, and is set for a warm welcome at City Screen.
"This is obviously a particularly appropriate play for us, and should be real fun," said Mr Clarke.
The play will run from tomorrow, to Saturday, tickets £5, or £3 for members and concessions.
