Dunnington struck ruthless form to stay unbeaten in division one of the Tyke Petroleum Men's Tennis League.

Their 91 games against Bubwith included four clean sweeps and the three pairs scored 32, 31 and 28.

In third place, Sutton drew nearer to Poppleton with 26 games from Paul Swift and Paul Thomas out of 60.

Wigginton stay top with a 61-47 win over Rowntree Park, who halved three and won two but could not match the Wigginton teamwork of 21, 20 and 20.

Strensall's two results, 76-32 against Knaresborough (Pat Atkinson and Richard Pears 29) and 66-42 against Dunnington II, put them firmly at the top of division two.

Copmanthorpe had a 64-44 win over Appleton Roebuck with 26 from Graeme Butcher and David Schofield. John Giles and David Bradley's 23 was the only opposition.

In division three, Poppleton II beat Cawood 65-43 with Charles Bush and John Schofield providing 25.

Sherburn stay top of division four by one point after beating New Earswick 61-47. As ever, Daz Sheriston and Martin Thorner were top scorers with 26 on the losing side.

Rufforth are second with David Laws and Brian Claydon scoring 26 of their 67 against Poppleton III for whom Steve Crab and Paul Burgon were best with 19.

Wheldrake II are top of division five thanks to a 62-46 win over Nestl. They are equal on points with the three clubs beneath them having played more matches.

Starbeck's 56-52 win over recovering Fulford keeps them second but one match ahead of Sutton II, who beat Cliffe.

Sheriff Hutton are still in the hunt after beating Selby, still without a point, by a slender 55-53 margin.
