THIEVES stole a Hayter petrol lawnmower worth £250 from a garage in Selby Road, Riccall, yesterday.
The thieves got into the garage by forcing a padlock sometime after 10am.
They also entered the garage but nothing was taken.
Four tyres from a silver Mazda sports car were stolen yesterday after thieves entered the garage of Riccall Road Cottage, in Escrick.
They damaged the car's ignition system in an attempt to steal it.
They took a Stihl power washer and a Honda lawnmower.
There was an attempted burglary in Foxhill Lane, Brayton, last night.
A man tried to get in by forcing a side uPVC window, but he was disturbed by the homeowner.
The man is described as about 35, 5ft 6ins and bulky. He was wearing black clothing.
