DETECTIVES are hunting a man who exposed himself and attempted to assault a young woman as she walked home late at night in York.
Police said the woman was left uninjured but shocked by the attack, close to the War Memorial Gardens, Leeman Road.
Detective Sergeant John Roberts, of York CID, said: "She was not hurt at all, but obviously was very shaken by the experience."
The incident happened as the woman walked home at about 11.15pm on Friday, when a man jumped out of bushes close to the entrance to the gardens.
The man was in his mid-20s, about 5ft 10ins tall with brown scruffy hair.
