AUSTRALIAN duo Nash Stone and Sean Hunter powered York II to victory over Sheriff Hutton Bridge with a century each.

Bridge lost their unbeaten record and their division one leadership when they opted to chase a massive score set by the Clifton Parkers and were eventually bowled out for 209.

Stone clinched the monthly batting award when he cracked an unbeaten 167.

The only success for Bridge's bowlers was the wicket of Sean Hunter. However, the Aussie had reached a neat 100 before being dismissed as York went to 282-1.

Bridge then scorned defensive tactics as they made an all-out effort to chase the runs and with Paul Scaling making 95 and brother Nick 37 they were able to top the 200 mark. However a belated attempt to hold out for a draw failed as Richard Carroll (3-59) and Stone (2-30) had them all out for 209.

Stamford Bridge gained their first win of the season after a string of five successive defeats when they emerged six-wicket winners at Crayke.

Crayke were knocked over for 121 by Phil Aconley (3-18) and Nick Porteous (3-26). Stuart Boyle 56 and Andy Milner 36no then saw Stamford to a comfortable victory.

Mike Newhouse (5-39) and Dave O'Gram (4-28) set up Pocklington's win at Driffield who were dismissed for 142 despite Mick Drury's 51. Pocklington lost just two wickets - Ian Camwell for 53 and Andy Inns (36) as they had little difficulty in reaching their target.

A devastating 16-overs spell by Tadcaster Magnet's Paul Clark earned his side their first win of the summer when Goole Town crashed to 82 all out.

Earlier, Gautam Sharma had taken 6-50 to seemingly set Goole a modest target as Tad were bowled out for 129 with only Mick Ransome resisting with 47.

Studley Royal had one of their biggest ever victories when they crushed struggling Stillington side by 207 runs in division two.

Jerrard Loftman hit an impressive 150 and, with Anthony Mackle's 65 backing the big innings from the Victorian, Studley were able to reach 296-8.

Gary Goodwin emerged with some credit with 3-48 but then saw Stillington's batting disintegrate as Adrian Caines took 5-29 and Charlie Scratchard 3-9 to bowl out the home side for just 89.

Bridlington's lead was cut back to nine points when they had the worst of a draw with Dringhouses whose home-grown talent again showed good form.

The St Helen's Road side were able to bank full batting points thanks to the efforts of Mick Kenyon (88), Mark Fenton (39) and Kev McGuinness (42).

Simon Brooke top-scored with 44 in Bridlington's reply but Dringhouses struck a valuable blow when they dismissed the free-scoring Hafiz Khalid for 33. Richard Lount 26 and Ian Shipley 26no kept Brid in the hunt but Mick Kenyon stemmed the run tide with 4-31 to hold Bridlington to 168-7.

Hornsea moved into second place when they sailed past Wilberfoss's 185-8 for the loss of just three wickets. Half centuries from Phil Stothard (53) and Ian Clish (52) ensured a decent first innings score with Ahmed Nadeem taking 3-54. In Horsea's reply, Richard Webster (31) and Mike Harah (42) did well before Paul Johnson clinched victory with 56 no.

Malton's Darren Wyrill hit his first ton in the league when he made 103 before Malton declared on 218-5 after 43 overs against Castleford. Wyrill's captain Neil Johnson scored 74.

Castleford's John Blanck made 49 but all-rounder Wyrill took 5-17 in eight overs to complete a rare double of a century and five wickets in a game. Despite his work, Cas held out for a draw at 110-7.

Sewerby were able to advance their cause in a competitive division when they had little difficulty in overcoming Rowntrees.

Sewerby bowled out their opponents for 101. Dave Whittle, with an unbeaten 37, was the sole Rowntree success as his bowlers gained scant reward as Sewerby eased to a nine-wicket win.
