COMMUNITY groups throughout York and North and East Yorkshire have won PCs to enhance their services to the community.
Telecoms giant BT awarded computers to five groups in North Yorkshire as part of a national £1.2 million scheme to connect community groups to the internet.
Winners included Selby District Nightstop, a group which provides free, safe emergency accommodation for young single people between 16 and 25, and the Bamburgh Research Project, an archaeological scheme.
York Special Families, Whixley Village Shop Association, The CAP Project in Bridlington and Harrogate Toy Libraries were all winners of round three of the BT Community Connections Project.
