PARSIMONIOUS Yorkshire drinkers are in for a shock if they visit a city pub this weekend.
Because The Maltings on Tanners Moat is selling what is believed to be York's first £4 pint of bitter.
That's right - a pint of Legless Eleven will set you back 400 pennies.
The dear beer hails from Bullmastiff Brewery in Cardiff, and weighs in at a massive 11 per cent alcohol by volume.
"Because we don't condone the misuse of alcohol, we will only sell it in halves," said Maltings landlord Shaun Collinge.
And the two quid per half pint price tag will soon sober up customers.
Shaun has ruled a happy hour when he will sell the potent brew at a mere £3.95 per pint.
"The first person to drink two halves of this will have a happy hour of their own," he said.
