Bishopthorpe White Rose footballer Andy Gordon had Ovington Under-13s' cricketers in a spin.
The 12-year-old, one of ten Bishopthorpe footballers to make a summer switch to Dringhouses Cricket Club Under-13s' side, produced a scintillating three-over spell of off-spin to take five wickets without conceding a run.
"I was very pleased," said Andy. "These were my best figures.
"I don't really have a favourite cricketer but I would like to play for Yorkshire."
However, the talented tyro's efforts were still not enough to see his side to victory as both sides finished tied on 42 runs apiece.
