TRADITIONAL village fun will be the name of the game at a North Yorkshire event.
Old-fashioned scarecrows, cow- pat bingo and traditional crafts will be all the rage at this year's Linton-on-Ouse Village Festival.
"This is a great event for the whole community, and we will celebrate it in a traditional way," said Peter Watson, village hall committee chairman.
"We want to make this event different from other more commercial fairs, so concentrate on having fun for the whole community.
"We might not always make as much money as we might, but for us it is important not only how much money you raise, but also how you raise it."
Traditional scarecrows made on the theme of nursery rhymes will line the main street.
Festival organiser Jean Thompson said: "People put a lot of effort in, and sometimes they are more like models than scarecrows, so this year we want them a bit more old-fashioned.
"With that and the cow-pat bingo, which will return after a couple of years absence because of problems with foot and mouth and other issues, it will be a familiar show.
"Everyone participating is from the village, be it the church, the gardening club, the sewers or crafts displays.
"We are hoping for a good turnout, and that people enjoy it as much as they always seem to."
The festival will be held in and around Linton-on-Ouse Village Hall on Saturday June 14 from 1.30pm.
