CARING customers and staff at a York supermarket have helped pay for new equipment at York Hospital.
A collection of pennies at Sainsbury's, Monk's Cross Shopping Park, Huntington, saw £500 raised.
The store teamed up with York Lions to organise the collection, which was backed by Janet Furman.
Mrs Furman's late husband Robert was a member of York Lions.
The money will now be donated to the physiotherapy department at York Hospital.
