NOT more anti-cat sentiment!
First, the Today programme with its regular anti-cat report, now D James writes to stir up the readers of the Evening Press (May 28).
It is irresponsible to stoke up anti-cat sentiment when there is already so much cruelty inflicted on people's beloved pet cats.
People have done a great deal to kill birds by removing their habitats and eliminating their food supplies, then they complain about cats after a bird decides to nest in an easily accessible spot.
Gardeners can deter cats by making their gardens less inviting: thorny bushes, damp soil, sprinklers, strong smells, etc. Gardeners can also plant traditional plants to encourage more insects and birds.
